It was a stupid move on Tom's part, and it was annoying that he did that to Red and Dembe, but, then again, if Red would have just told him the truth about the bones, there might have been a happier ending.ĭembe wanted Red to tell the truth, but Red was afraid, and that fear was a contributing factor to Tom's death. Tom was surprised at the revelations, but that didn't stop him from stealing the bones and taking off. Tom made Liz happy and Red recognized that from the very beginning. Red may have only tolerated Tom, but he cared for him more than anyone could have imagined.
